“The Importance of Intimacy: A Look Into the Connection Between the Self and the Other in Ross Gay’s Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude” English Distinguished Major’s Thesis
Fall 2020-Spring 2021
Under the direction of Professor Mary Kuhn, I have spent a year writing a distinguished major’s thesis analyzing the interconnectedness of ecopoetics and the second person direct address as they apply to climate activism. Thesis to be judged April 10, 2021.
“Extinction in the Archives” Special Collections Archival Research
Spring 2019 - Spring 2020
Under the direction of Professor Adrienne Ghaly, I and a team of five others worked together to create an exhibition launched in the Special Collections library in Fall 2019 outlining climate change and species extinction narratives. Took documents and literature and lifted an extinction narrative from the pages, synthesized information into easy to understand materials used in the exhibition.

United States Department of State Diplomacy Lab on Housing Crises in Jamaica
Spring 2021
Under the direction of the US State Department and the US embassy in Jamaica, in combination with professor Phoebe Crisman of UVA, I worked with a team of UVA students to analyze and provide solutions for the housing crisis in Jamaica. We concentrated our efforts on the impacts of climate change, violence, education, and infrastructural dilemmas to provide constructive feedback on reducing violence, poverty, and homelessness primarily in the city of Kingston, Jamaica.
*Researched and edited for a ~200-page report
*Took information and synthesized it in an easy to read manner
*Introductory knowledge of publishing and political conversation
Independent Study for Upcoming Netflix Series With Director Moira Demos
Spring 2021-Present
I and a team of 6 others were carefully selected to do research on various climate activism and climate change issues in order to help Moira Demos, director of Making a Murderer build a new universe in which to place her upcoming climate activism Netflix series. My concentration was on regenerative agriculture. Responsibilities included:
*Synthesis of difficult to understand statistics and scientific methodology relating to regenerative agriculture into weekly reports
*Working together as a team to help provide ideas for world-building
*Coming ethnographic fieldwork interviewing local farmers and coming to understand their plight
